THE FAMOUS

Tuesday after thanksgiving

After black Friday

No mall shopping

Unless of course it was small business

Local shopping

Compassionately generous on Sunday

Grateful to be not on line or in a store or dining on anything but poultry

Small hens or large turkey

Breasts

Vegan low fat

Veggies low carb glycemic index

veggies the main course

And not leftovers or sides

Cyber Monday

And now drum roll please.

Giving Tuesday aka known as Taco Tuesday

Is that why my very own personal IN BOX

Is so so full

I counted… 140 emails

and my favorite letter carrier slipping in icy SNOW

needs his knee brace and abdominal binder to

carry

So many more

solicitations by direct mail at my door

Still I was hoping

Holding out for greetings

dusting off Advent calendars

I found my mother’s old orderly alphabetized

address book

This day .. maybe the Tuesday after or so…

we would count

how many GREETINGS we would need

Purchased

Printed

Handmade

mailed out in time

So folks would know we would remember them

Who got a photo

A letter

Purple Mimeographed lists

Lists

of who we received cards from last year and in year’s

past gone by

How many stamped envelops

Might we need

I could start on the return address

So we would be ready to GIFT

So so

in honor of Giving Tuesday

I would be sure to wrap a package

real nice

make my way

to the post office before closing

sending my donation on its merry way

Holiday package with a reindeer and gifts ready for mailing
