I walked exactly one mile today 2382 steps per my iPhone pedometer.

It was the easy peasy dog led walk we hadn’t taken for a while. No destination in mind, just meandering, no headphones or music. The phone independently chose a podcast on on the beneficial effects of the new moon and the value of moving slowly and napping when tired. I listened by speaker phone and let the dog walk me.

Resist and retreat when the urge to be so busy and productive beckons. Counterintuitive when professing to listening to one’s intuition. Often we rely on who is talking instead of the quality and the appropriateness of the message.

I really do like my neighborhood and the bucolic nature of the urban sanctuary. Familiar faces not often seen peek out their windows and backyards and generally speak or wave and acknowledge a gentle and welcoming presence. The little “durl” the abbreviated combo name for the dog and the girl when not answering to the given name.

Think of it as the preferred pronoun for the elder pup who runs the walking schedule in my home. I was selected for the route today as if we were assigned by a deity to survey storm damage from thunder and lightening and severe weather here in pure Michigan . Tornados on the same day were also sighted and landing near where we used to live in rural Maryland and lots…
