I am with her

ahh

to be censured

who dares make that list

have you ever been fired

told to sit down

be quiet

reminded of lady like behavior

calling on the name of your own grandmother

ancestors acknowledging land is not a point on a map

it is a space

where she might be known

knitted together in her mother’s womb

woven with thread gathered

placed for such a time as this

150 years ago maybe just a wee bit

3 or four generations back or forth

names we didn’t dare utter

so many ahead

one of my favorite slogans

“I am with her”

requires only i stand

next to

behind

out where

they and maybe she

can see

she is not alone

she came here with her tribe
